Crews cap gas leak that prompted evacuations near Biscayne Boulevard

Crews capped a gas leak that triggered evacuations last week, plus what's coming to the Aventura Arts Center stage.

Lead story

A gas leak in the area of Biscayne Boulevard prompted evacuations and snarled traffic in Aventura on May 28. Emergency crews responded to the scene, where the leak forced temporary road closures and the evacuation of nearby residents and businesses as a precaution.

Crews have since repaired the leak and normal access to the affected streets has been restored. The city has not disclosed the cause of the leak. Drivers who adjusted their routes last week can resume their usual paths through the Biscayne Boulevard corridor.
